Getting started with Aftershoot
In this guide, you'll learn how to quickly set up Aftershoot to streamline your photo culling and editing process. By the end, you'll be able to upload your images and let the AI help you select the best shots.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to the Aftershoot website.
- Click on the Get Started button.
- Choose a plan that suits you (there may be a trial option).
- Fill in your details and create your account.
- Once signed in, download the Aftershoot application for your operating system (Mac or Windows).
- Install the application and log in with your credentials.
Step 2: Your first culling session
- Open the Aftershoot application.
- Click on the Import button in the top left corner.
- Select the folder containing your photos and click Open.
- Aftershoot will process your images. Once complete, you’ll see a grid of thumbnails.
- Use the filter options on the right to adjust settings based on sharpness, facial expressions, or composition.
- Click on the images you want to keep. You can also use the Select All button for quick selection.
- After making your selections, click on the Export button to save your chosen images to a new folder.
Step 3: Get better results
- To improve the selection process, customise the AI settings under Preferences. Adjust the sliders for sharpness and facial expression sensitivity.
- Regularly update the software to benefit from the latest AI improvements.
- Train the AI by marking images as "favourite" or "reject" during your sessions. This helps it learn your preferences over time.
