Getting started with Alitu

In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up your Alitu account and produce your first podcast episode with AI noise reduction and editing tools. By the end, you’ll be ready to record, edit, and publish your podcast efficiently.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Alitu's website.
  2. Click on the Get started button in the top right corner.
  3. Choose a subscription plan that suits you (note: Alitu offers a free trial for 7 days).
  4. Fill in your details and create your account.
  5. Once logged in, follow the on-screen prompts to set up your profile and podcast details.

Step 2: Your first podcast episode

  1. From the dashboard, click on Create a new episode.
  2. Select Record if you want to record directly through Alitu, or choose Upload to add pre-recorded audio files.
  3. If recording, click the Start Recording button and allow microphone access. Speak clearly and stop when done.
  4. After recording, click Stop Recording. You’ll see the audio file appear in the episode timeline.
  5. Click on Edit to access the editing suite. Here, you can trim, rearrange, and apply noise reduction.
  6. Once satisfied, click Publish to share your episode on platforms like Apple Podcasts or Spotify.

Step 3: Get better results

  • Use the Audio Clean-up feature to automatically reduce background noise and enhance clarity. This is located in the editing section after you upload or record.
  • For better engagement, add chapter markers by clicking on the Add Chapter button in the episode timeline. This helps listeners navigate your podcast easily.
  • Experiment with the Transcription feature to create show notes automatically, making it easier for your audience to follow along.

Pro tip

Use keyboard shortcuts while editing to speed up your workflow. For example, use the spacebar to play/pause audio and arrow keys to navigate through your timeline quickly.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid recording in a noisy environment. Background sounds can diminish audio quality even after using noise reduction. Always test your recording setup in a quiet space before starting.
