Getting started with Anomalo

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to Anomalo's website.
2. Click on the "Get Started" button located at the top right corner.
3. Fill in your details to create an account. You may need to verify your email.
4. Once you’re logged in, follow the on-screen prompts to connect your data sources. Anomalo supports various data sources like databases and data warehouses.

Step 2: Your first anomaly detection

1. After setting up your data sources, navigate to the "Dashboards" tab from the left-hand menu.
2. Click on "Create New Dashboard".
3. Select the dataset you want to monitor from the list.
4. Anomalo will automatically analyse your data and create visualisation charts.
5. Review the generated charts and look for any flagged anomalies in the "Anomalies" section. Click on each anomaly for detailed insights.

Step 3: Get better results

1. Regularly check the "Insights" tab to understand the trends and patterns in your data.
2. Set up alerts by clicking on the "Alerts" menu. You can choose to receive notifications via email when anomalies are detected.
3. Explore the "Custom Views" feature to tailor your dashboards according to specific metrics or KPIs you want to monitor closely.

Pro tip

Use the "Schedule Reports" feature under the "Reports" menu to automate the delivery of insights to your email. This saves you time and ensures you stay updated without having to log in daily.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid neglecting the initial data connection setup. If your data sources are not properly integrated, Anomalo will not be able to analyse your data effectively, leading to missed anomalies. Always double-check the data connections in the "Settings" section.
