Getting started with Brevo

In this guide, you'll learn how to set up your Brevo account and create your first email campaign. By the end, you'll be ready to engage your audience effectively using Brevo's marketing tools.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Brevo's website.
  2. Click on the "Get Started for Free" button.
  3. Fill in your email address and create a password. Alternatively, you can sign up using Google.
  4. Confirm your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
  5. Log in to your new account and follow the onboarding prompts to complete your profile and set up your business details.

Step 2: Your first email campaign

  1. From the dashboard, click on "Campaigns" in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select "Create an email campaign".
  3. Enter a name for your campaign and click "Next".
  4. Choose a template or start from scratch. If you're new, select a pre-designed template for ease.
  5. Edit the content by clicking on text boxes and using the toolbar to format your text. Add images or buttons by dragging them from the sidebar.
  6. Once satisfied, click "Next" to select your recipients. You can choose from your existing contacts or upload a new list.
  7. Review your campaign details, then click "Send" or schedule it for later.

Step 3: Get better results

  • Use the "A/B Test" feature to test different subject lines or content within your emails. You can find this option when creating a campaign.
  • Segment your audience by creating groups based on their behaviour or interests. This can be done under "Contacts" > "Lists".
  • Monitor your campaign performance through the "Reports" section to see open rates, click rates, and more.

Pro tip

Take advantage of Brevo's "Automation" feature to set up automated email sequences for welcome messages or follow-ups. This saves you time and keeps your audience engaged without ongoing effort.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid sending emails without testing them first. Always send a test email to yourself using the "Send test email" option before launching your campaign to ensure everything looks right.
