Getting started with Browse AI

With Browse AI, you will learn how to create web scraping robots using a simple visual interface. By the end of this guide, you'll be able to extract data from websites without needing to write any code.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to Browse AI.
2. Click on the Sign Up button in the top right corner.
3. Enter your email and create a password, or sign up using Google for quicker access.
4. Once logged in, you’ll be taken to your dashboard where you can start creating your scraping robots.

Step 2: Your first web scraper

1. On your dashboard, click on the Create Robot button.
2. A new tab will open. Enter the URL of the website you want to scrape and click Start.
3. Browse AI will load the webpage. Click on the elements you wish to scrape (e.g., text, images, or links). Each selected element will be highlighted.
4. After selecting the elements, click on the Save Selection button.
5. Name your robot and set the scraping frequency (e.g., one-time, daily).
6. Click Create Robot to save your settings.

Step 3: Get better results

• To refine your results, use the Preview Data option after selecting elements. This will show you a sample of the data that will be extracted.
• You can also adjust the scraping settings by clicking on Settings in the robot’s menu. Here, you can modify how the data is processed, such as setting up filters or transformations for your scraped data.

Pro tip

When creating your robot, use the Selector tool to fine-tune your element selections. This can help avoid capturing unwanted data and improve the accuracy of your results.

Common mistake to avoid

A common mistake is not checking the Preview Data before finalising your robot. Always preview the data to ensure you're capturing the right elements, as this can save you time and prevent the need to redo your setup.
