Getting started with Centime

In this guide, you'll learn how to set up Centime and start forecasting your cash flow effectively. By the end, you'll be able to manage your working capital with confidence.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Centime's website.
  2. Click on the "Get Started Free" button located at the top right corner.
  3. Fill in the required fields: your name, email address, and a password.
  4. Confirm your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
  5. Log in to your new account and follow the on-screen prompts to set up your business profile, including entering your company details and linking your bank accounts.

Step 2: Your first cash flow forecast

  1. After logging in, navigate to the "Cash Flow" tab in the main menu.
  2. Click on "Create Forecast" to start.
  3. Enter your expected income and expenses for the upcoming month by clicking the "Add Income" or "Add Expense" buttons.
  4. Save your entries; Centime will automatically generate a forecast based on the data you provided.
  5. Review the forecast to understand your cash position and make adjustments if necessary.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Regularly update your income and expenses for more accurate forecasting. Go to "Cash Flow" > "Manage Entries" to edit as needed.
  2. Utilise the "Insights" section to analyse trends and identify potential cash flow issues.
  3. Set up alerts in the "Settings" menu to notify you of significant changes in your cash position.

Pro tip

Link your accounting software (like QuickBooks or Xero) in the "Integrations" section. This saves time on manual data entry and ensures your forecasts are based on real-time data.

Common mistake to avoid

Many users forget to regularly update their financial entries, leading to inaccurate forecasts. Make it a habit to review and enter data at least weekly for the best results.
