Step 2: Your first transcription

  1. From the dashboard, click on the "Upload Audio" button.
  2. Select the audio file you want to transcribe (supported formats include MP3, WAV, and M4A).
  3. Once uploaded, choose your desired language from the dropdown menu.

  5. Wait for 2-3 minutes while Cockatoo processes your audio. You will receive a notification once the transcription is complete.
  6. Click on the completed transcription to review and edit any inaccuracies.

Step 3: Get better results

  • To improve accuracy, ensure that your audio files are clear and free from background noise.
  • Use the "Speaker Identification" feature if your audio has multiple speakers; this will help in distinguishing between different voices.
  • Experiment with the "Export" options to save your transcription in various formats such as TXT, DOCX, or PDF.

Pro tip

Always review the transcription immediately after it’s generated. This allows you to catch any errors while the audio is still fresh in your mind, making edits quicker and more accurate.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid uploading audio files that are too long or have poor sound quality. Cockatoo works best with clear audio and files no longer than 2 hours. If your file exceeds this length, split it into shorter segments before uploading.
