Getting started with Craft

In this guide, you'll learn how to create and edit documents using Craft, along with its AI writing assistance features. By the end, you'll be able to produce well-structured documents efficiently.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to craft.do.
2. Click on the "Get Started" button in the top right corner.
3. Choose to sign up using your email or Google account.
4. Follow the prompts to complete your registration.
5. Once logged in, take a moment to explore the user interface.

Step 2: Your first document

1. On the main dashboard, click the "+ New Document" button on the left sidebar.
2. A blank document will open. Start typing your content.
3. To use AI writing assistance, highlight the text you want to enhance, then click on the “AI” icon in the toolbar above your document.
4. Select the type of assistance you want (e.g., "Rewrite," "Summarise," etc.) from the dropdown menu.
5. Review the suggestions provided by the AI and incorporate them as needed.

Step 3: Get better results

1. Use headings to structure your document. Highlight text and select "H1," "H2," or "H3" from the formatting options in the toolbar.
2. Add images or tables by clicking the "+" button in the left sidebar and selecting the type of content you want to insert.
3. Experiment with the AI features by trying different prompts and seeing how they affect your writing style.
4. Save your work regularly by clicking the "Save" button in the top right corner.

Pro tip

Use keyboard shortcuts for common actions. For example, press "Cmd + B" (Mac) or "Ctrl + B" (Windows) to bold text quickly.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid neglecting the AI suggestions. Many beginners ignore these features, but they can significantly enhance your writing quality. Always review the AI's input for better results.
