Getting started with Deel

In this guide, you will learn how to set up Deel and manage your international payroll and compliance needs efficiently. By the end, you'll be ready to hire contractors or employees across the globe.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Deel's website.
  2. Click on the "Get Started" button located in the top right corner.
  3. Select whether you want to sign up as a company or an individual contractor.
  4. Fill in your details and click "Sign Up". You may need to verify your email.
  5. After signing in, follow the on-screen prompts to set up your company profile, including adding your business details and payment information.

Step 2: Your first hire

  1. On your dashboard, click on "Hire" in the left menu.
  2. Choose "Contractor" or "Employee" based on your needs.
  3. Select the country of your hire from the dropdown menu.
  4. Fill in the required details, such as name, email, and role.
  5. Choose a payment method and enter the contract details.
  6. Review the contract and click "Send for Signature". The contractor or employee will receive an email to review and sign.

Step 3: Get better results

  • Use the "Templates" feature under "Contracts" to create standardised agreements for different roles. This saves time on contract generation.
  • Regularly check the "Compliance" section to ensure you are meeting local labour laws and tax obligations.

Pro tip

Utilise the "Bulk Hire" feature if you are onboarding multiple employees or contractors at once. This allows you to upload a CSV file with their details, speeding up the process significantly.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid skipping the compliance checks. Make sure to review the legal requirements for each country where you hire, as missing these can lead to costly fines or issues down the line. Always check the "Compliance" tab before finalising a hire.
