Getting started with Deep Dream Generator

After reading this guide, you'll be able to create stunning AI-generated art using Deep Dream Generator, combining your images with various artistic styles and text prompts.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Deep Dream Generator.
  2. Click on the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner.
  3. Register using your email address or sign in with Google or Facebook.
  4. Once signed in, you'll receive a set number of "energy credits" for free. These credits allow you to generate images.

Step 2: Your first creation

  1. On the homepage, click on the “Create” button.
  2. Choose whether to upload an image using the “Upload” button or generate an image from text by selecting “Text to Image”.
  3. If uploading an image, click “Choose File” and select your desired image from your computer.
  4. After uploading, select a style from the “Style” dropdown menu. You can choose from pre-existing styles or create your own.
  5. If generating from text, type your prompt in the text box provided and select a style as before.
  6. Click the “Generate” button. Your image will start processing, which may take a few moments.
  7. Once complete, click on the generated image to download or share it.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Experiment with different styles to see how they transform your images. Some styles yield more dramatic results than others.
  2. Use high-resolution images for better quality outputs.
  3. Adjust the “Strength” slider when using a pre-set style to control how much of the style is applied to your image.
  4. Try combining multiple images or prompts for unique results. You can do this by creating a new generation with a different image or text prompt and layering styles.

Pro tip

Save time by using the “Favourites” feature. After generating an image, click the star icon to save it to your favourites for quick access later.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid using low-resolution images as your base. They can lead to poor-quality outputs, making your final artwork less impressive. Always start with the highest quality image you have.
