Getting started with Drip
In this guide, you'll learn how to set up Drip for your ecommerce business and create targeted email campaigns based on customer behaviour. By the end, you'll be ready to engage your audience effectively.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to Drip's website.
- Click on the Get Started Free button on the homepage.
- Fill in your email address and create a password, then click Sign Up.
- Follow the prompts to enter your store details (like your store name and URL).
- Once completed, verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
Step 2: Your first campaign
- From the Drip dashboard, click on Campaigns in the left sidebar.
- Select Create Campaign.
- Choose between Email Campaign or SMS Campaign. For this example, click Email Campaign.
- Name your campaign and click Next.
- Select a segment or create a new one (e.g., New Customers).
- Click Next and choose a template for your email.
- Edit the email content as needed, adding images and personalised messages.
- Click on Next, review your campaign, and then hit Send Campaign or schedule it for later.
Step 3: Get better results
- Use smart segments to target specific customer behaviours. Go to People and create segments based on criteria like purchase history or engagement levels.
- Personalise your emails by using merge tags (e.g., “{{ first_name }}”) to address customers by their names.
- Schedule your campaigns for optimal times using the Send Time Optimisation feature under campaign settings.
