Getting started with Everlaw

After reading this guide, you'll be able to set up your Everlaw account and begin using its AI-powered features for e-discovery and document review, streamlining your legal processes.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Everlaw's website.
  2. Click on the "Get Started" button located at the top right corner.
  3. Fill in the required information, including your name, email address, and password.
  4. Choose your organisation type and click "Create Account."
  5. Check your email for a verification link and confirm your account.
  6. Log in to your new account and set up your profile by following the on-screen prompts.

Step 2: Your first document review

  1. Once logged in, click on the “Projects” tab in the left sidebar.
  2. Click on the “New Project” button to create a new project.
  3. Enter a project name and description, then click “Create.”
  4. In your project dashboard, click on the “Upload” button to add documents. You can drag and drop files or browse your computer.
  5. After uploading, navigate to the “Documents” tab to view your files.
  6. Use the search bar to find specific documents or use filters to narrow down the results.
  7. Click on any document to view it; you can highlight text, add notes, or tag it for easy reference.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use the “Predictive Coding” feature by clicking on the “Review” tab in your project.
  2. Select a sample of documents to train the AI on what is relevant. Click “Train” and follow the prompts to label documents.
  3. Adjust the “Coding” settings to refine how the AI learns from your selections.
  4. Use the “Visual Analytics” feature to explore the data trends in your documents. Click on the “Analytics” tab for insights on document types and review progress.

Pro tip

Set up “Smart Tags” for frequently reviewed documents. This will allow you to quickly label and categorise documents, saving you time during the review process.

Common mistake to avoid

A common mistake is neglecting to train the predictive coding feature effectively. Ensure you provide a diverse and representative sample of documents to improve the AI's accuracy in identifying relevant materials.
