Getting started with Folk

In this guide, you will learn how to set up your Folk account and start using its unique Magic Fields feature for personalised outreach. By the end, you will be able to create tailored messages for your contacts quickly and efficiently.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  2. Click on the "Sign Up" button located in the top right corner.
  3. Enter your email address and create a password, then click "Create Account."
  4. Confirm your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
  5. Once logged in, follow the prompts to set up your profile and import any existing CRM data if needed.

Step 2: Your first personalised outreach

  1. From the dashboard, click on "Contacts" in the left sidebar.
  2. Select a contact from your list or click "Add Contact" to create a new one.
  3. Once in the contact view, scroll down to find the "Magic Fields" section.
  4. Click “Add Magic Field” and select the data points you want to personalise (e.g., name, company, interests).
  5. Click “Save” to store your Magic Fields.
  6. Navigate to the "Outreach" tab and click "New Message."
  7. In the message editor, type your content and insert Magic Fields by clicking the + icon next to the text area.
  8. Once your message is ready, click "Send" to reach your contact.

Step 3: Get better results

  • Experiment with different Magic Fields to see which combinations resonate best with your audience.
  • Use the "Templates" feature to save frequently used messages for quicker access.
  • Schedule follow-ups directly from the contact view to ensure you stay on top of your outreach.

Pro tip

Take advantage of the "Bulk Actions" feature in the Contacts section. You can select multiple contacts and send them personalised messages at once, saving you time while maintaining a personal touch.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid using too many Magic Fields in a single message. Overloading your outreach can make it feel less personal and more like a generic email. Stick to a few key fields that will truly enhance the message.
