Getting started with Fotor

In this guide, you'll learn how to use Fotor for basic photo editing and design. By the end, you'll be able to enhance images, remove backgrounds, and create stunning graphics quickly.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Fotor's website.
  2. Click on the Sign Up button in the top right corner.
  3. Choose to sign up with your email, Google account, or Facebook account.
  4. Once signed up, you’ll be directed to the Fotor dashboard where you can access the editing tools. The free tier includes basic editing features.

Step 2: Your first photo edit

  1. From the dashboard, click on the Edit a Photo button.
  2. Upload an image by clicking the Upload button or dragging your image into the upload area.
  3. Use the 1-Tap Enhance feature on the left panel to automatically improve your photo. Click on the Enhance button.
  4. If you want to remove the background, select the Background Remover tool from the left panel. Click on your image and let Fotor automatically detect the background.
  5. Once you’re satisfied with the changes, click on the Export button in the top right corner to save your edited image. Choose your desired format and quality, then click Download.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Try using the AI Art Generator for unique designs. Click on Create from the dashboard, then select AI Art.
  2. Enter a prompt describing what you want to create and click Generate.
  3. Experiment with different styles and settings to refine your results.
  4. Use the Templates feature for quick designs. Click on Templates in the left menu, browse available designs, and customise them to fit your needs.

Pro tip

Take advantage of the Batch Processing feature if you have multiple images to edit. This allows you to apply the same edits to several photos at once, saving you time.

Common mistake to avoid

Many users forget to adjust the export settings before downloading their images. Always check the file format and quality settings to ensure your final image meets your needs.
