Getting started with Framedrop

In this guide, you'll learn how to quickly set up Framedrop and start extracting highlights from your streams or recordings. By the end, you’ll be ready to create engaging short clips effortlessly.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Framedrop.
  2. Click on the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner.
  3. Enter your email address and create a password, or use a social login option if available.
  4. Confirm your email address through the link sent to your inbox.
  5. Log in to your account.

Step 2: Your first highlight extraction

  1. Once logged in, click on the "Upload" button on the dashboard.
  2. Select the video file you want to analyse from your computer (ensure it’s in a supported format like MP4).
  3. After the upload is complete, click on the “Analyse” button to allow Framedrop to detect highlights.
  4. Wait for the processing to finish (this may take a few minutes depending on the video length).
  5. Once processing is complete, Framedrop will display a list of detected highlights. Click on any highlight to preview it.
  6. To save a highlight as a short clip, click the "Download" button next to the selected highlight.

Step 3: Get better results

  • For optimal results, upload videos that are at least 10 minutes long. This gives the AI more context to identify engaging moments.
  • Review the detected highlights and use the “Adjust” feature to fine-tune any clips that you want to edit.
  • You can also set custom tags for your highlights to make them easier to find later.

Pro tip

Use the "Batch Process" feature if you have multiple videos. This allows you to upload and analyse several files at once, saving you time.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid uploading videos in unsupported formats or with very low quality. This can lead to inaccurate highlight detection and poor results. Always check the format before uploading.
