Getting started with Glide
In this guide, you’ll learn how to create custom business apps using Glide, transforming your Google Sheets data into functional applications without any coding. By the end, you’ll be ready to build and deploy your first app quickly.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to Glide's website.
- Click on the Get started for free button on the homepage.
- Sign up using your Google account for easy integration with Google Sheets.
- Once signed in, you’ll be taken to the Glide dashboard. Here, you can start a new project by clicking on the New Project button.
Step 2: Your first app
- After clicking New Project, select From Google Sheets.
- Choose a Google Sheet from your Drive that contains the data you want to use.
- Glide will automatically generate an app based on your spreadsheet data. You can see the app preview on the right side of the screen.
- To customise your app, click on different components in the left sidebar. For example, click on Tabs to add or remove sections of your app.
- To change the appearance of an element, select it and use the properties panel on the right to adjust settings like layout and style.
- Once satisfied with your app, click the Publish button in the top right corner to make it live.
Step 3: Get better results
- Use the Data tab in the left sidebar to manage and modify your data directly within Glide. You can add, delete, or change entries easily.
- Explore the Components section to add features like buttons, images, or forms to enhance your app’s functionality.
- For AI agents, consider using Glide's Actions feature, which allows you to create interactive elements that respond to user inputs.
