Getting started with Hootsuite
After reading this guide, you'll be able to set up your Hootsuite account, schedule posts across multiple social media platforms, and use its analytics tools effectively.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to Hootsuite's website.
- Click on the "Get Started Free" button.
- Fill in your details to create an account. If you select the 30-day free trial, you won’t be charged until the trial ends.
- Verify your email address by clicking the link in the confirmation email.
- Log in to your new Hootsuite account.
Step 2: Your first post
- Once logged in, click on the "New Post" button located at the top of the dashboard.
- In the post creation window, select the social media accounts you want to post to by checking the boxes next to their names.
- Write your content in the text box. You can also add images or links using the respective buttons.
- Choose to either "Post Now" or "Schedule for later" by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the "Post" button. If scheduling, select a date and time.
- Click "Schedule" to confirm your post.
Step 3: Get better results
- Use the "Analytics" tab on the left sidebar to track the performance of your posts. Click on "Reports" to view insights on engagement and reach.
- Experiment with the "AutoSchedule" feature under the post creation window to let Hootsuite choose the best times for posting based on past performance.
- Regularly check the "Streams" section to monitor conversations and mentions related to your brand, allowing for timely engagement.
