Getting started with Instapage
After reading this guide, you'll be able to create your first landing page using Instapage's drag-and-drop builder and understand how to use real-time heatmaps to optimise your design.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to Instapage.
- Click on the "Start Free Trial" button on the homepage.
- Fill in the required details (name, email, password) and click "Create Account."
- Verify your email if prompted, then log in to your new account.
- Familiarise yourself with the dashboard, where you can access templates and your projects.
Step 2: Your first landing page
- On the dashboard, click the "+ New Page" button.
- Choose a template from the options or select "Blank Page" to start from scratch.
- Use the drag-and-drop builder: click on elements (like text, images, buttons) from the left sidebar and drag them onto your page.
- Click on any element to edit its properties (like text, colour, size) using the options that appear on the right side.
- Once you're satisfied, click the "Publish" button in the top right corner, then select a custom domain or use a Instapage subdomain.
- Confirm your settings and your landing page will go live.
Step 3: Get better results
- To use heatmaps, navigate to the "Analytics" tab on the left sidebar after your page is published.
- Enable heatmaps to see where users click, scroll, and spend time on your landing page.
- Adjust your design based on these insights by moving elements to areas with higher engagement.
- Experiment with A/B testing: create variations of your landing page by clicking "Duplicate" and modifying elements for comparison.
