Getting started with iZotope

In this guide, you'll learn how to sign up for iZotope and perform basic audio production tasks like mixing, mastering, and repairing audio. Within minutes, you'll be ready to enhance your audio projects using AI-assisted tools.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to iZotope's website.
  2. Click on the "Sign In" button in the top right corner.
  3. If you don't have an account, click on "Create Account" and fill in your details (name, email, password).
  4. After confirming your email, log in to your account.
  5. Navigate to the "Products" section to explore available tools. Note that iZotope offers trial versions of some products, so look for "Try Now" buttons for RX, Ozone, and Neutron.

Step 2: Your first audio project

  1. Choose a product (e.g., Ozone for mastering).
  2. Click on "Try Now" to download the trial or launch the web app.
  3. Import your audio file by clicking the "Import" button in the main interface.
  4. Select a preset from the right panel to apply basic mastering effects.
  5. Adjust the settings using sliders and knobs. Use the "Play" button to listen to changes in real-time.
  6. Once satisfied, click "Export" to save your mastered audio.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Explore the "Modules" section to add specific effects like EQ or Dynamics.
  2. Use the "Match EQ" feature to analyse and replicate the tonal balance of a reference track.
  3. For RX, use the "Repair Assistant" to automatically identify and fix issues like noise or clicks.
  4. Regularly save your progress by clicking the "Save" button to avoid losing any changes.

Use keyboard shortcuts to speed up your workflow—familiarise yourself with common commands like "Ctrl + Z" for undo and "Ctrl + S" for save.
