Getting started with Lately

In this guide, you will learn how to turn long-form content into multiple social media posts using Lately. By the end, you'll be able to generate engaging posts for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X quickly and efficiently.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to Lately's website.
2. Click on the Get Started Free button in the top right corner.
3. Fill in your details to create an account. You may need to confirm your email.
4. Once logged in, you’ll be taken to the dashboard where you can start creating content.

Step 2: Your first content transformation

1. On the dashboard, click on the Create button located in the top menu.
2. Select Social Posts from the dropdown.
3. In the text box, paste your long-form content, such as a blog post or article.
4. Click on the Generate Posts button. Lately will analyse your content and create several social media posts.
5. Review the generated posts. You can edit any post directly by clicking on it.
6. Once satisfied, select the posts you want to publish and click on Schedule to set the timing for each platform.

Step 3: Get better results

• Use specific keywords and phrases in your long-form content to guide Lately in generating relevant posts.
• Consider the tone of your brand when creating content; Lately will try to mirror this in the generated posts.
• Explore the Content Library feature to save and manage your posts more effectively.

Pro tip

Take advantage of the Post Variations feature. After generating your posts, use this to create multiple versions of a single post, allowing you to A/B test which ones perform better on different platforms.

A common mistake is not reviewing the generated posts thoroughly. Always check for clarity, tone, and relevance to ensure they align with your brand message before scheduling them.
