Getting started with Lately AI

After reading this guide, you'll be able to sign up for Lately AI and transform your long-form content into engaging social media posts quickly and effectively.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to lately.ai.
  2. Click on the "Get Started" button on the homepage.
  3. Choose a plan: Startly for $49/month or Litely for $99/month. Enter your payment details and create an account.
  4. Once logged in, navigate to the dashboard to complete your profile. Fill in details about your business and social media accounts.

Step 2: Your first content repurposing

  1. From the dashboard, click on the "Content" tab in the left menu.
  2. Select "Create New Post" and then choose "Repurpose Content."
  3. Upload your long-form content (like a blog post or podcast transcript) by clicking the "Upload" button or pasting the text directly into the text box.
  4. Click on “Analyse” to let Lately AI process the content.
  5. Once the analysis is complete, you’ll see a list of suggested posts. Review these and select the ones you want to use by checking the boxes next to each suggestion.
  6. Click "Schedule" to post directly to your connected social media accounts or save them for later.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. To optimise your content, regularly review the analytics section under the "Insights" tab. Here, you can see which posts performed best.
  2. Use the "Customise" option for each suggested post to tweak the wording or add hashtags relevant to your audience.
  3. Experiment with different types of long-form content (e.g., webinars vs. blog posts) to see what resonates most with your followers.

Pro tip

Set up social media accounts integration early in the process. Connect your accounts by going to the "Settings" tab, then "Social Accounts." This way, you can schedule posts directly from the platform without needing to copy and paste.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid skipping the analysis step after uploading your content. This is crucial for ensuring that the AI understands your previous social media performance, which helps generate more effective posts.
