Getting started with Lexica

In this guide, you will learn how to navigate Lexica, an AI image generation platform, and create your first artwork. You will also discover how to explore its extensive library of millions of generated images.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Lexica's website.
  2. Click on the “Sign Up” button located in the top right corner.
  3. Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up using Google for quicker access.
  4. Confirm your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
  5. Once verified, log in to your account.

Step 2: Your first image generation

  1. After logging in, you will see the main dashboard. Click on the “Create” button located on the left sidebar.
  2. In the text box, enter a prompt describing the image you want to generate (e.g., “a serene landscape with mountains and a lake”).
  3. Adjust the settings below the prompt, such as aspect ratio and style, to suit your preference.
  4. Click the “Generate” button. Wait a moment while the AI creates your image.
  5. Once generated, your image will appear below. Click on it to view or download.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Experiment with different prompts and settings to see how they affect the output. More detailed prompts often yield more specific results.
  2. Use the “Explore” section in the left sidebar to view existing artworks. Click on any image to see the prompt used, which can inspire your future creations.
  3. Save your favourite images by clicking the heart icon to build a personal collection.

Pro tip

When entering prompts, use descriptive adjectives and specific details to guide the AI better. For example, instead of saying “a cat,” try “a fluffy orange cat sitting on a windowsill with sunlight streaming in.” This helps the AI produce more tailored results.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid overly vague prompts. If you simply enter “art,” the AI may generate something that doesn’t align with your vision. Always include details that reflect what you want to see.
