Getting started with LiveChat
In this guide, you will learn how to set up LiveChat and initiate your first customer chat. By the end, you’ll be ready to enhance your customer support with AI-powered message suggestions and chatbots.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to LiveChat's website.
- Click on the Get started button.
- Fill in your email address and create a password, or sign up using your Google account.
- Choose your plan: select the 14-day free trial option to get started without payment.
- Follow the prompts to set up your company name and website.
- Once set up, you’ll be directed to the LiveChat dashboard.
Step 2: Your first chat
- From the dashboard, click on Settings in the left-hand menu.
- Go to Chat widget and customise your chat widget’s appearance (colours, position, etc.).
- Click on Install to get the code snippet; add this to your website’s HTML.
- After installation, return to the dashboard and click on Chats.
- Open a new chat by clicking on New chat in the upper right corner.
- Enter a test message to see how it appears on your website.
Step 3: Get better results
- In the Settings menu, navigate to AI and enable Message suggestions. This allows the AI to suggest responses during chats.
- Set up Chatbots under the Chatbot section to handle common queries automatically. Select Create a new bot and follow the prompts to define its responses.
- Use the Reports section to review chat performance and identify areas for improvement.
