Getting started with Mabl

In this guide, you'll learn how to set up Mabl and create your first automated test. By the end, you’ll be able to streamline your testing process and ensure your software maintains high quality.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Visit Mabl's website.
2. Click on the Get Started Free button at the top right corner.
3. Fill in your details to create an account. You’ll need a valid email address and to create a password.
4. After signing up, check your email for a verification link and click it to activate your account.
5. Log in to the Mabl dashboard.

Step 2: Your first test

1. On the Mabl dashboard, click on the Create Test button.
2. Choose Web Application as your test type.
3. Enter the URL of the application you want to test and click Next.
4. Mabl will launch a browser to record your actions. Navigate through your application to perform the actions you want to test.
5. Once you have completed your actions, click Stop Recording.
6. Review the recorded steps and click Save Test. Give your test a name and description for easy reference.

Step 3: Get better results

1. After saving, you can set up Test Schedules by selecting the Schedule tab. Choose how often you want the test to run (e.g., daily, weekly).
2. Use the Test Results tab to review the outcomes of your tests. This will show you any regressions or failures.
3. Adjust any test steps that may need updates or fine-tuning based on the results you receive.

Pro tip

Use the Test Maintenance feature to automatically update your tests when the application changes. This will save you time on manually adjusting tests after updates.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid skipping the verification of recorded steps after creating your test. If you don’t review them, you may miss errors caused by incorrect actions or assumptions during the recording process. Always ensure your recorded steps accurately reflect the user journey you want to test.
