Getting started with Meshy

In this guide, you will learn how to turn images and text into 3D models using Meshy. By the end, you’ll be able to create your first 3D asset quickly and easily.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to Meshy.
2. Click on the “Sign Up” button located at the top right corner of the homepage.
3. Fill in your details to create a free account. You can also sign up using Google or other social accounts if available.
4. Once signed up, log in to your account.

Step 2: Your first 3D model

1. On the dashboard, click on the “Create New Model” button.
2. Choose between uploading an image or entering descriptive text. For this example, select “Upload Image.”
3. Click on the “Upload” button and select an image from your device that you want to convert into a 3D model.
4. After your image uploads, click the “Generate Model” button.
5. Wait for the processing; this may take a minute. Once done, you’ll see a preview of your 3D model.
6. Click on the “Download” button to save your model to your device.

Step 3: Get better results

• Experiment with different images and descriptions to see how they affect the generated models. For text, be specific about the details you want in your 3D asset (e.g., “a red car with sleek lines”).
• Adjust the “Detail Level” slider on the generation page. Higher levels take longer but yield more intricate models.

Pro tip

Try using high-quality images with clear subjects. The better the input, the better the output. Images with distinct shapes and colours will produce more accurate 3D models.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid using overly complex or cluttered images. Simple images with clear subjects yield the best results. If your model doesn’t turn out as expected, try simplifying your input.
