Getting started with NaturalReader

After reading this guide, you'll be able to convert written content like PDFs and web pages into spoken words using NaturalReader. You'll learn how to set up your account, upload documents, and customise the reading experience.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to NaturalReader's website.
  2. Click on the "Get Started for Free" button on the homepage.
  3. Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up using Google.
  4. Once signed up, log in to your account. You’ll be taken to the NaturalReader dashboard.

Step 2: Your first reading

  1. On the dashboard, click on the "Upload" button located at the top left.
  2. Choose the document you want to convert (PDFs, Word documents, or text files).
  3. After uploading, select the document from your library.
  4. Click on the "Play" button (the triangle icon) to start the reading.
  5. You can pause, skip forward, or go back using the controls at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. To change the voice, click on the voice dropdown menu on the right side of the player.
  2. Select a voice that suits you. You can also adjust the reading speed by sliding the speed bar next to the voice selection.
  3. For scanned documents, ensure the OCR feature is enabled in your settings to get accurate text recognition.

Pro tip

Use the "Bookmark" feature to mark specific sections of your document. This allows you to easily return to important parts without scrolling through the entire text.

Common mistake to avoid

Many users forget to enable the OCR feature for scanned documents, resulting in the text not being read. Always check that OCR is active when uploading these types of files.
