Getting started with Nightwatch

In this guide, you'll learn how to set up Nightwatch and start tracking your website's SEO performance, including how your brand appears in AI-generated search results. After following these steps, you'll be able to monitor your rankings effectively.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to nightwatch.io.
2. Click on the "Get Started" button in the top right corner.
3. Choose a plan that suits your needs (the 14-day free trial is a good starting point).
4. Fill in your details to create an account and confirm your email address.
5. Once logged in, navigate to the dashboard to begin setting up your projects.

Step 2: Your first tracking project

1. In the dashboard, click on the "Add Project" button.
2. Enter your website URL and give your project a name.
3. Select the keywords you want to track. You can manually input them or use the suggested keywords feature.
4. Click "Save." Nightwatch will now begin tracking your site’s performance for those keywords.
5. To monitor AI-generated results, ensure you enable the AI Tracking add-on in your settings.

Step 3: Get better results

1. Use the "Reports" tab to view your performance over time. You can customise the date range for specific insights.
2. Set up email alerts by going to "Settings" > "Notifications" to receive updates on significant ranking changes.
3. Regularly review the "Competitors" section to see how your rankings compare to similar brands.
