Getting started with Outreach

In this guide, you'll learn how to set up Outreach and automate your sales outreach efforts. You’ll be able to create sequences for emails, calls, and more, making your sales process more efficient.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Outreach.io.
  2. Click on the “Request a Demo” button in the top right corner.
  3. Fill out the required fields, including your name, email, and company details.
  4. A representative will contact you to discuss your needs and provide access to the platform.

Step 2: Your first outreach sequence

  1. Once you have access, log in to your Outreach account.
  2. Navigate to the “Sequences” tab in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click on the “Create Sequence” button.
  4. Name your sequence and select the channels you want to include (e.g., Email, Call, SMS).
  5. For each step, click “Add Step” and configure the content for each touchpoint (e.g., email subject and body).
  6. Set the timing for each step (e.g., 1 day after the previous step).
  7. Save your sequence by clicking the “Save” button at the bottom.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use the “Templates” feature to create reusable email templates for quicker outreach.
  2. Monitor engagement data by going to the “Analytics” tab to see which sequences are performing best.
  3. Adjust your sequences based on insights gained from engagement metrics (open rates, replies, etc.).
  4. Experiment with A/B testing by creating variations of your emails within the same sequence.

Pro tip

Use the “Personalisation” features to automatically insert prospect details (like their name or company) into your emails. This can significantly improve engagement rates.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid creating overly long sequences. Prospects may lose interest if your outreach spans too many days or includes too many steps. Aim for concise, impactful communications.
