Getting started with Papercup

In this guide, you will learn how to use Papercup to localise your videos by dubbing them into multiple languages with the help of AI and human translators. By the end, you'll be able to upload your video and produce a dubbed version quickly and efficiently.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Papercup's website.
  2. Click on the Get Started button on the homepage.
  3. Fill in your details to create an account. You may need to verify your email.
  4. Once logged in, you will be taken to the dashboard where you can manage your projects.

Step 2: Your first dubbing project

  1. On the dashboard, click on the New Project button.
  2. Upload your video file by clicking the Upload Video button. Supported formats include MP4 and MOV.
  3. After the video uploads, select the target languages you want to dub your video into.
  4. Click on the Start Dubbing button. Papercup will process your video and generate the dubbed audio.
  5. Once complete, you will receive a notification. Click on the project to review the dubbed video.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use high-quality video files for better audio syncing.
  2. If your video includes background music or sound effects, adjust the volume levels in the settings to ensure clarity.
  3. Review the dubbed audio by clicking the Preview button before finalising your project.
  4. If necessary, you can edit the subtitles by clicking on the Edit Subtitles option to make adjustments.

Most beginners overlook the Preview feature. Always preview your dubbed video before finalising to catch any errors or misalignments early.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid uploading low-quality videos, as this can lead to poor audio quality in the dubbed version. Always ensure your video is clear and has good sound quality for the best results.
