Getting started with Parsera

In this guide, you'll learn how to set up Parsera and start extracting content from web pages without needing any coding skills. By the end, you'll be able to effortlessly pull relevant data from your chosen websites.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Parsera's website.
  2. Click on the Sign Up button located in the top right corner of the homepage.
  3. Fill in your details (name, email, password) and click Create Account.
  4. Confirm your email address by clicking the link in the confirmation email sent to you.
  5. Log in to your new account.

Step 2: Your first extraction

  1. Once logged in, click on the Create New Parser button on your dashboard.
  2. Enter the URL of the website you want to scrape in the provided field and click Load Page.
  3. Parsera will display the webpage. Use the built-in selector tool to highlight the data you wish to extract (e.g., product names, prices).
  4. Click on the Add Element button for each piece of data you want to extract. You can adjust the selection if needed.
  5. Once you’ve added all necessary elements, click on the Save Parser button.
  6. To run the extraction, click on the Run Parser button in your dashboard.

Step 3: Get better results

  • To improve accuracy, ensure you select elements that are consistent across the pages you want to scrape.
  • Use the Preview option to see how the extracted data looks before finalising your parser.
  • If the extraction doesn’t work as expected, revisit your selections and adjust them using the selector tool.

Pro tip

Use the Test Parser feature before saving it. This allows you to see if your selections are correct without running the full extraction process, saving you time and effort.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid selecting elements that are dynamic or change frequently (like ads or pop-ups). These can lead to inconsistent data extraction. Focus on static content that remains constant across the page.
