Getting started with Phind
In this guide, you will learn how to set up Phind, perform your first technical search, and get the most accurate results for your programming queries. With Phind, you can quickly find answers and code snippets from reliable sources.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to Phind's website.
- Click on the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner.
- Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up using your GitHub account for quicker access.
- After confirming your email, you can start using the free tier immediately, which allows standard model queries.
Step 2: Your first search
- On the Phind homepage, locate the search bar at the centre of the page.
- Type in your programming question, e.g., "How to reverse a string in Python?" and press "Enter."
- Review the results displayed below, which include answers, code snippets, and citations from various sources.
- Click on any code snippet to see it formatted and ready for copying.
Step 3: Get better results
- Use specific keywords related to your query for more accurate results. For example, instead of asking "How to sort?", try "How to sort a list in Python?"
- Explore the filters on the left side of the page to narrow your results by source type (e.g., documentation, Stack Overflow).
- For more advanced queries, consider upgrading to the Pro plan for access to the advanced model, which provides better contextual understanding and more queries.
