Getting started with Poe

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Visit Poe's website.
2. Click on the “Get Started” button in the centre of the page.

2. Repeat your question to see how different models answer.
3. Use clear and specific prompts to get precise answers. For instance, instead of asking "Tell me about AI," try "What are the main types of AI used in business today?"
4. Explore the settings (gear icon) for each chatbot to adjust parameters like tone or detail level, if available.

Pro tip

Use the “Compare” feature to view responses side by side. This is especially useful for research, as you can easily assess differences in how each model interprets your question.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid asking vague questions. Specificity leads to better responses. For example, instead of saying "Tell me about history," specify "What were the causes of World War II?" to get a more relevant answer.
