Getting started with Scite.ai
In this guide, you'll learn how to use Scite.ai to analyse citations effectively, helping you understand how research papers are referenced in the academic community. You'll be able to identify whether citations support, contradict, or merely mention a claim within your research.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to scite.ai.
- Click on the "Sign Up" button located at the top right corner of the homepage.
- Choose to sign up using your email address or a Google account.
- Complete the registration form and verify your email if prompted.
- Once logged in, you can explore the free tier, which allows limited access to citation analysis.
Step 2: Your first citation analysis
- Use the search bar at the top of the page to enter the title or DOI of a paper you want to analyse.
- Select the paper from the search results.
- On the paper's page, you'll see a summary of citation contexts. Look for the "Citations" section.
- Click on the "Show all citations" button to view the detailed list.
- Review the citations categorised as "Supporting," "Contradicting," or "Mentioning" to understand how the paper is referenced in the literature.
Step 3: Get better results
- Use filters on the left sidebar to narrow down citations by type, date, or publication.
- Explore the "Related Papers" section to discover studies that may complement or challenge your research.
- Save relevant papers to your library by clicking the "Save" button for easy access later.
