Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to shortlyai.com.
2. Click on the "Get Started" button on the homepage.
3. Fill in your details to create an account or sign up using Google.
4. Once registered, you'll be taken to the dashboard where you can start a new document.

Step 2: Your first writing task

1. Click on the “New Document” button on the dashboard.
2. In the text editor, start typing your ideas or the beginning of your piece.
3. When you hit a block, click on the “Write for me” button located on the right side of the editor. This prompts ShortlyAI to generate text that continues from where you left off.
4. Review the suggestions and edit as needed to fit your style.

Step 3: Get better results

1. Use the “Expand” feature after your initial text to generate more content on specific points.
2. Adjust the AI's tone by selecting options like “Formal”, “Casual”, or “Creative” from the dropdown menu to match your desired style.
3. Regularly save your work by clicking the “Save” button in the top right corner to avoid losing progress.

Pro tip

If you find a generated section you love, highlight it and click the “Save to Favourite” button. This allows you to easily access and reuse your best lines later.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid typing too little or too much before clicking “Write for me”. If your initial input is vague, the AI may generate irrelevant content. Aim for a clear direction or a few sentences to guide its output.
