Getting started with Snipd

In this guide, you'll learn how to use Snipd to highlight key moments from podcasts and export insights directly to your notes. By the end, you'll be able to efficiently manage and recall valuable information from your favourite audio content.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to Snipd's website.
2. Click on the "Get Started" button on the homepage.
3. Sign up using your email address or Google account.
4. Confirm your email if prompted. You are now ready to explore Snipd.

Step 2: Your first podcast

1. After signing in, use the search bar at the top to find a specific podcast episode or browse the "Discover" section for popular shows.
2. Click on the episode you want to listen to.
3. As the episode plays, look for highlighted key moments displayed in the timeline. Click on any moment to jump directly to that section.
4. To export insights, click on the "Export" button (usually located near the highlighted moments) and choose your preferred notes application (e.g., Notion, Evernote).

Step 3: Get better results

• Use the "Transcript" feature on the episode page to follow along with the audio and locate important sections more easily.
• Create custom tags for your highlights to organise insights based on topics or themes. Click on the "Tag" icon next to highlighted moments to add your tags.
• Regularly check the "My Highlights" section to review and manage your saved insights.

Pro tip

To save time, use keyboard shortcuts while listening to podcasts. For example, press the spacebar to pause/play the audio quickly, and use the arrow keys to skip ahead or rewind by 10 seconds.

Common mistake to avoid

Many users forget to export their highlights after listening. Make it a habit to export your insights immediately after each episode to ensure you don’t lose valuable information.
