Getting started with Spacelift
In this guide, you will learn how to set up Spacelift for managing your infrastructure-as-code (IaC) projects using its AI-powered features. You'll be able to integrate with popular IaC tools and streamline your DevOps processes effectively.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to Spacelift's website.
- Click on the "Get Started for Free" button on the homepage.
- Fill in your details to create an account or sign up using GitHub for easier integration.
- Verify your email if prompted, and log in to your new Spacelift account.
Step 2: Your first project
- Once logged in, click on the "New Stack" button on your dashboard.
- Choose your IaC tool from the list (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Connect your version control system (VCS) by following the prompts to authorise access.
- Select the repository that contains your IaC code.
- Configure your stack settings, such as the branch to deploy from and any environment variables.
- Click "Create Stack" to set it up.
- After creation, click on the "Run" button to initiate your first deployment.
Step 3: Get better results
- Explore the "Settings" tab for your stack to customise your CI/CD workflows.
- Enable the Saturnhead AI assistant by clicking on the "AI Recommendations" toggle in the settings.
- Use the "Insights" section to review performance metrics and recommendations for optimising your infrastructure management.
- Regularly check the "Notifications" tab to stay updated on stack health and deployment status.
