Getting started with Stepsize
In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up Stepsize and generate your first sprint report quickly. After reading, you’ll be able to create development summaries that save your engineering team time and effort.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to Stepsize.com.
- Click on the Get Started button in the top right corner.
- Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up using your GitHub account for quicker access.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your profile setup.
- Connect your project management tool (e.g., Jira, GitHub) by going to Integrations in the left-hand menu and selecting your preferred tool. Authorise Stepsize to access your project data.
Step 2: Your first sprint report
- Once you’ve set up your integrations, navigate to the Reports section from the left-hand menu.
- Click on Create Report.
- Select the sprint you want to report on from the dropdown menu.
- Choose any specific filters to refine your report (e.g., by team member or issue type).
- Click Generate Report. Stepsize will pull the data and create a summary automatically.
- Review the generated report, and if needed, use the Edit button to make adjustments or add comments.
Step 3: Get better results
- To improve the quality of your reports, ensure your project management tool is up to date with accurate task statuses and comments before generating reports.
- Use the Custom Templates feature under the Settings menu to standardise report formats for your team.
- Regularly check the Insights section for analytics on your team’s performance and report generation to make informed adjustments.
