How to Use Tella

Getting started with Tella

In this guide, you will learn how to create polished screen recordings using Tella. By the end, you'll be able to record your screen and camera, edit your videos with AI, and repurpose content for social media.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to tella.com.
2. Click on the “Get Started for Free” button on the homepage.
3. Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up using Google.
4. Confirm your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
5. Log in to your account.

Step 2: Your first recording

1. On the dashboard, click on the “New Recording” button.
2. Choose whether to record your screen, camera, or both by selecting the appropriate options.
3. Select the screen area you want to record (full screen or custom).
4. Click the “Start Recording” button.
5. When finished, click the red “Stop” button in the recording toolbar.
6. Name your recording and hit “Save”.

Step 3: Get better results

1. After saving, you will be taken to the editing interface.
2. Use the AI editing features by clicking on the “Edit” button. This allows you to trim clips or add text overlays.
3. To enhance your video, click on the “Layouts” tab to choose a polished template that suits your style.
4. Preview your video by clicking the “Play” button.
5. Once satisfied, click on “Export” to save your video or share it directly to social media.

Pro tip

Use the “Templates” feature before recording to plan your layout. This saves time when editing and ensures that your video looks professional from the start.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid recording with both your screen and camera without checking your audio settings first. Ensure your microphone is selected and working to prevent silent recordings.
