Getting started with Thunderbit

With Thunderbit, you can quickly extract data from any website in just two clicks. This guide will help you set up your account and perform your first data extraction efficiently.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to thunderbit.com.
  2. Click on the Sign Up button located at the top right corner of the homepage.
  3. Enter your email address and create a password, then click Create Account.
  4. Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
  5. Log in to your new account.

Step 2: Your first data extraction

  1. Once logged in, click on the New Project button on your dashboard.
  2. Enter a name for your project and click Create.
  3. In the project interface, paste the URL of the website you want to scrape into the designated field and click Load Page.
  4. After the page loads, hover over the data you wish to extract. Thunderbit will highlight the selectable elements.
  5. Click on the desired data (e.g., product names, prices) to select it. You will see a confirmation that the data has been selected.
  6. Once you’ve selected all the required data, click on the Extract Data button. The data will be processed and displayed in a table format.
  7. Click Download to save your data in CSV format.

Step 3: Get better results

  • To improve your extraction, ensure you select as specific elements as possible. Use filters if available to narrow down your data selection.
  • If the page has multiple similar elements (like product listings), use the Select All option to grab everything quickly.
  • You can also set up a schedule for regular scraping by clicking on the Schedule button in your project settings.

Pro tip

Use keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl + C to copy URLs quickly and Ctrl + V to paste them directly into Thunderbit for faster project setup.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid selecting elements that are part of advertisements or unrelated content. This can lead to cluttered data and make it harder to find the information you need. Always double-check your selections before extracting.
