Getting started with Typecast

With Typecast, you will be able to create high-quality voiceovers using diverse character voices for your media projects. This guide will take you from signing up to producing your first audio clip in just a few minutes.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Typecast's website.
  2. Click on the “Sign Up” button in the top right corner.
  3. Choose to sign up using your email or a Google account.
  4. Fill in the required details and confirm your email address.
  5. Once logged in, explore the dashboard where you can find various features and settings.

Step 2: Your first voiceover

  1. On the dashboard, click the “Create New Project” button.
  2. Select “Text-to-Speech” from the options.
  3. In the text box, type or paste the script you want to convert to voice.
  4. Choose a character voice from the dropdown menu on the right. You can listen to samples by clicking the play button next to each voice.
  5. Adjust settings like pitch and speed using the sliders below the voice selection.
  6. Click the “Generate” button to create your audio.
  7. Once processed, click the “Download” button to save your voiceover file.

Step 3: Get better results

  • Experiment with different character voices to find the one that fits your project best.
  • Use punctuation effectively in your script to improve the natural flow of the voiceover.
  • Try combining multiple voices in one project for varied character interactions. Simply add more text boxes and select different voices for each.

To save time, prepare your script in a text editor first. This allows you to easily make edits and ensure you have the right content before pasting it into Typecast.

Avoid using overly complex sentences or jargon in your script. This can lead to robotic-sounding voiceovers. Stick to clear, concise language for the best results.
