Getting started with Udio

In this guide, you’ll learn how to create radio-ready tracks using Udio by turning text descriptions into complete songs. By the end, you'll be able to generate your first track and refine it for better quality.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Udio's website.
  2. Click on the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner.
  3. Fill in your details or sign up using your Google or Facebook account.
  4. Once signed up, log in to access your dashboard.

Step 2: Your first song

  1. On your dashboard, click the "Create Song" button.
  2. You’ll see a text box labelled "Describe your song." Enter a clear description of the genre, mood, and instruments you want. For example, “a happy acoustic guitar track with soft vocals.”
  3. After entering your description, click the "Generate" button.
  4. Wait for Udio to process your request. This may take a few moments.
  5. Once generated, you can listen to your song by clicking the "Play" button.
  6. If you like it, click "Save" to store it in your library.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. To refine your song, click on the "Edit" button next to the saved track.
  2. Adjust the elements like tempo, key, and instrumentation using the sliders available.
  3. Experiment with different descriptions and styles to see what works best.
  4. Use the "Preview" feature to hear changes in real-time before saving.

Pro tip

Try using specific adjectives and details in your descriptions, such as “upbeat tempo” or “electronic synths,” to guide Udio in generating more tailored tracks.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid vague descriptions like “make a song.” Instead, be specific about the style and elements you want, as this will help Udio produce a more satisfying result.
