Getting started with Unbounce

In this guide, you'll learn how to create your first landing page using Unbounce and set up Smart Traffic to optimise your conversions. By the end, you'll be ready to publish your page and start capturing leads.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to unbounce.com.
  2. Click on the "Get Started" button located at the top right corner.
  3. Choose a plan that suits you. There is no free tier, but you can start with a 14-day free trial for the Build plan at $99/month.
  4. Fill in your details and click on "Create Account".
  5. Follow the prompts to set up your account and confirm your email address.

Step 2: Your first landing page

  1. After logging in, click on the "Create New" button on your dashboard.
  2. Select "Landing Page" from the options.
  3. Choose a template from the gallery or start from scratch by selecting "Blank Template".
  4. Use the drag-and-drop editor to add elements like text, images, buttons, and forms. Click on any element to edit its properties.
  5. Once you’re happy with your design, click on the "Publish" button at the top right.
  6. Choose a subdomain for your landing page and click "Publish".

Step 3: Get better results

  1. To set up Smart Traffic, click on the "Smart Traffic" tab in the left sidebar.
  2. Toggle the Smart Traffic switch to "On".
  3. Unbounce will now automatically route visitors to the best-performing page variant based on their attributes.
  4. Monitor your page’s performance through the "Analytics" tab, where you can view conversion rates and traffic sources.

Pro tip

Use the "A/B Testing" feature to compare different versions of your landing page. This helps you identify which elements are working best before fully committing to your design.

Common mistake to avoid

Don't forget to set up tracking for your conversion goals. Go to the "Forms" section and ensure your form submissions are connected to your email or CRM. Failing to do this means you may miss out on valuable leads.
