Getting started with VEED

In this guide, you'll learn how to quickly edit videos using VEED's online platform, enabling you to add subtitles, remove background noise, and produce polished clips without technical hassles.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to VEED's website.
  2. Click on the Get Started button in the top right corner.
  3. Choose to sign up using your email, Google, or Facebook account.
  4. Once signed in, you’ll land on the dashboard where you can start a new project.

Step 2: Your first video edit

  1. On the dashboard, click on New Project.
  2. Upload your video by clicking the Upload Video button. You can drag and drop or select a file from your device (up to 2GB on the free plan).
  3. Once uploaded, your video will appear in the editor.
  4. To add subtitles, click on the Subtitles tab on the left menu and select Auto Subtitles. Choose your desired language and click Generate.
  5. After the subtitles are generated, you can edit them for accuracy by clicking on each text box.
  6. To remove background noise, click on the Audio tab, then select Background Noise Removal and toggle it on.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. For eye contact correction, navigate to the Effects tab on the left menu, and select Eye Contact. Adjust the slider to enhance your onscreen presence.
  2. To create auto-generated clips, click on the Clips tab and select Auto Clip, which will allow you to create short snippets from your video.
  3. Adjust video resolution and format by clicking the Export button in the top right corner, then select your preferred settings before finalising the export.

Pro tip

Use the Templates feature on the left menu to jumpstart your project. This can save you time by providing pre-designed layouts suited for different types of videos.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid skipping the subtitle editing step. Many beginners assume auto-generated subtitles are perfect, but they often require adjustments for clarity and accuracy. Always review them before finalising your video.
