Getting started with Yomu AI

In this guide, you will learn how to set up Yomu AI, create your first academic paper, and optimise your experience using its built-in research engine, Sourcely.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Yomu AI.
  2. Click on the Get Started button on the homepage.
  3. Fill in your email address and create a password, then click Sign Up.
  4. Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
  5. Log in to your new account.

Step 2: Your first academic paper

  1. Once logged in, click on New Document in the dashboard.
  2. Enter a title for your paper in the text box.
  3. Start writing your introduction in the main editor area.
  4. To find academic sources, click on the Research tab on the left sidebar.
  5. Use the search bar to enter keywords related to your topic. Press Enter.
  6. Browse the results, and click on the relevant sources to read summaries.
  7. To insert a source into your document, click the Insert button next to the source title.
  8. Continue writing your paper, using the sources as needed.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use the Outline feature by clicking on the Outline tab to structure your paper before writing.
  2. Take advantage of the Citation tool found in the editor to automatically format your references.
  3. Experiment with different writing styles by selecting options in the Settings menu to tailor the tone of your writing.

Pro tip

Use the Keyboard Shortcuts feature found in the help menu to speed up your writing process. For example, pressing Ctrl + B will bold your text instantly.

Common mistake to avoid

Many users forget to save their progress. Always click the Save button at the top right of the editor after making significant changes to avoid losing your work.
