How to Use Bardeen

A practical guide to get you up and running with Bardeen. Written by Delv Editorial, Delv Team.

Getting started with Bardeen

In this guide, you'll learn how to set up Bardeen and automate tasks in your browser without any coding. By the end, you'll be able to scrape data, connect apps, and create simple workflows using AI Playbook.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Bardeen's website.
  2. Click on the "Get Started for Free" button.
  3. Create an account using your email or sign up with Google.
  4. Once signed in, download the Bardeen browser extension for Chrome or Firefox by clicking on the "Add to [Browser]" button.
  5. After installation, pin the Bardeen extension to your toolbar for easy access.

Step 2: Your first automation

  1. Click on the Bardeen icon in your browser toolbar.
  2. Select "Create a new Playbook."
  3. In the Playbook editor, type a simple command like "Scrape product prices from Amazon" and click "Generate."
  4. Bardeen will create an automation workflow based on your command. Review the steps and make any necessary adjustments.
  5. Click "Run" to execute the Playbook. The scraped data will appear in a new tab or as a downloadable file.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Experiment with different commands in the Playbook editor to see what automations you can create.
  2. Use the "Add step" button to include more actions in your automation, such as sending data to Google Sheets or another app.
  3. Explore the "Templates" section for pre-built automations that you can customise to fit your needs.

Pro tip

Take advantage of the "AI Playbook" feature to describe your automation in plain English. This can save you time by generating workflows quickly without needing to understand complex coding.

Common mistake to avoid

Don't forget to check your browser permissions. If Bardeen is unable to access certain sites or data, it may be due to insufficient permissions. Ensure that the extension has the necessary access in your browser settings.
