Getting started with Capacities
In this guide, you will learn how to set up Capacities and create your first interconnected notes. After reading, you’ll be able to organise your ideas visually and efficiently.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to capacities.io.
- Click on the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner.
- Choose the free plan to access core features by entering your email and creating a password, then click "Create Account".
- Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
- Log in to your new account.
Step 2: Your first note
- Once logged in, click the “+ New Object” button on the left sidebar.
- Enter a title for your note and click "Create".
- In the note editor, type your content. You can format text using the toolbar options (bold, italics, bullet points).
- To link this note to another, highlight a word or phrase, click the link icon in the toolbar, and select an existing object or create a new one.
- Click "Save" to keep your changes.
Step 3: Get better results
- Use tags to categorise your notes. Click on the “Tags” section in the right sidebar when viewing a note and add relevant tags.
- Explore the “Graph View” by clicking the graph icon at the top right to visualise how your notes connect.
- Regularly update and link new notes to existing ones to expand your knowledge graph.
Pro tip
Quickly create a new note from anywhere by using the keyboard shortcutCtrl + N (or Cmd + N on Mac). This saves time when inspiration strikes.
