Getting started with Decktopus

With Decktopus, you'll create professional presentations in minutes. This guide will help you generate a complete presentation deck, including layouts and speaker notes, using just a topic description.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Decktopus.
  2. Click on the "Get Started for Free" button on the homepage.
  3. Sign up using your email address or Google account.
  4. Once registered, you’ll be taken to the dashboard.

Step 2: Your first presentation

  1. Click the "Create New Presentation" button.
  2. Enter your presentation topic in the prompt box (e.g., "The Future of Renewable Energy").
  3. Specify your audience (e.g., "University Students") and desired outcome (e.g., "Inform and Inspire").
  4. Click "Generate" to let the AI create your presentation.
  5. Review the slides it generates. You can click on any slide to edit text, change layouts, or add images.
  6. To view speaker notes, click on the "Notes" section at the bottom of each slide.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use the "Customise" tab to adjust themes, fonts, and colours to match your branding.
  2. Add interactive elements by selecting "Interactive" from the menu, then choose options like polls or quizzes.
  3. Use the "Call to Action" suggestions generated by the AI to engage your audience effectively.
  4. Preview your presentation by clicking on the "Present" button in the top right corner to see how it will look live.

Use the "Templates" feature to choose from pre-designed styles that suit your topic, saving time on design decisions.
