Getting started with Fireflies.ai

After reading this guide, you'll be able to set up Fireflies.ai, record meetings, and access transcriptions and summaries effortlessly.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Fireflies.ai.
  2. Click on the “Sign Up” button in the top right corner.
  3. Choose to sign up using your Google account or enter your email and create a password.
  4. Confirm your email address by clicking the link in the verification email you receive.
  5. Once logged in, complete your profile by adding your name and other details as prompted.

Step 2: Your first meeting

  1. In the Fireflies dashboard, click on “Create Meeting” or use the “Schedule Meeting” button.
  2. Select your meeting platform (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) and authorise Fireflies to access your calendar.
  3. Enter the meeting details: title, date, time, and participants.
  4. Click on “Save” to schedule the meeting.
  5. When the meeting starts, Fireflies will join automatically. Ensure your meeting is recorded.
  6. After the meeting, go back to the Fireflies dashboard to find the transcription and summary of your discussion.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use the “Action Items” feature to tag specific tasks during the meeting. This can be found in the meeting summary.
  2. Review the transcription by clicking on the meeting title in your dashboard; you can edit any inaccuracies directly.
  3. Set up integrations with other tools you use, such as Slack or Asana, for seamless task management and notifications. You can find this under “Integrations” in the settings menu.

Pro tip

Make sure to enable the "Automatic Recording" feature in your settings. This saves time by ensuring every meeting is recorded without manual intervention.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid forgetting to authorise Fireflies on your meeting platform. If you don’t grant the necessary permissions, it won’t be able to join your meetings and transcribe them. Always double-check the authorisation settings in your account.
