In this guide, you'll learn how to set up and navigate Forecast, an AI-driven project management tool that helps you plan resources and manage budgets effectively. By the end, you'll be ready to create your first project and gain valuable insights.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Visit Forecast's website.
  2. Click on the "Get Started" button at the top right of the homepage.
  3. Fill in the sign-up form with your name, email, and password, then click "Sign Up".
  4. Confirm your email address through the link sent to your inbox.
  5. Log in to your new account and follow the initial setup prompts to configure your workspace.

Step 2: Your first project

  1. On the dashboard, click on the "Projects" tab in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the "New Project" button at the top right.
  3. Enter the project name, description, and select a project type (e.g., Internal, Client).
  4. Set the start and end dates, then assign team members by clicking "Add Team Members" and selecting from the list.
  5. Click "Create Project" to finalise.
  6. To add tasks, click on your newly created project, then select the "Tasks" tab. Click "New Task" and fill in the task details before saving.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use the "Budget" section within your project to set financial limits and monitor costs.
  2. Regularly update task statuses to keep data accurate; use the "Progress" dropdown to indicate completion levels (e.g., Not Started, In Progress, Completed).
  3. Explore the "Forecast" tab to view AI-generated predictions on project timelines and potential resource shortages.

Regularly review the "Insights" section on your dashboard to track project performance metrics. This will help you adjust plans proactively and avoid overruns.
