Getting started with Gamma

In just a few minutes, you'll learn how to create stunning presentations quickly using Gamma. With its AI capabilities, you can transform a simple text prompt into a polished slide deck in seconds.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to gamma.app.
2. Click on the “Sign Up Free” button at the top right.
3. Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up using Google or Slack.
4. Confirm your email if prompted.
5. Once you're signed in, you'll receive 400 free credits to start creating presentations.

Step 2: Your first presentation

1. From the Gamma dashboard, click on the “Create New” button.
2. Select “Presentation” from the dropdown menu.
3. Enter a title for your presentation and a brief description or outline of your topic in the provided text box.
4. Click on the “Generate” button.
5. Review the AI-generated slides. You can click on any slide to edit text, add images, or change layouts.
6. To add new slides, click the “+” icon in the slide navigator on the left.

Step 3: Get better results

• Experiment with different prompts. The more specific you are, the better the output. For example, instead of saying “Marketing strategies,” specify “Digital marketing strategies for small businesses.”
• Use the “Design” tab to change the overall look of your presentation. You can choose colour schemes and fonts that match your style.
• Add charts and interactive elements by clicking on the “Insert” button and selecting the relevant option.

Pro tip

If you want to save time, create a detailed outline with bullet points before generating your presentation. This gives the AI clearer context and leads to better slide content.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid using vague prompts like “Make a presentation.” Instead, provide specific topics or outlines. This will prevent the AI from generating generic content that doesn't meet your needs.
